Caring for your boots
How do I clean and care for my Lucchese items?
Lucchese uses the finest leathers to manufacture our products. To preserve the appearance of your handmade Lucchese products, we recommend that you clean your product at least 8 times a year depending on your own wearing patterns.
Flats (cowhides, goats, etc.)
Clean: Remove loose dust or dirt with damp cloth or soft brush. For heavily soiled products use Lucchese Leather Cleaner (see care instructions).
Condition: Apply Lucchese Leather Conditioner to your boots liberally, let dry.
Polish: Apply neutral or color matching cream-based polish and buff with a soft cloth to a shine.
Protect: Apply Lucchese Premium Leather Protector.
Suede
Clean: Remove loose dust and dirt with a stiff bristle brush.
Condition: Apply Lucchese Leather Conditioner liberally.
Protect: Apply Lucchese Premium Leather Protector.
General Exotics
Clean: Remove loose dust or dirt with damp cloth or soft brush. For heavily soiled products use Lucchese Leather Cleaner (see care instructions).
Condition: Apply Lucchese Leather Conditioner to your boots liberally, let dry.
Polish: Apply neutral or color matching cream-based polish and buff with a soft cloth to a shine.
Protect: Apply Lucchese Premium Leather Protector.
Distressed Exotics
Clean: Remove loose dust or dirt with damp cloth or soft brush. For heavily soiled products use Lucchese Leather Cleaner (see care instructions).
Condition: Apply Lucchese Leather Conditioner to your boots liberally, let dry.
Polish: Apply neutral or color matching cream-based polish and buff with a soft cloth to a shine. Disclaimer – leather conditioners and polishes will cause distressed and stonewashed finishes to fade.
Protect: Apply Lucchese Premium Leather Protector.
Ostrich
Clean: Remove loose dust or dirt with damp cloth or soft brush. For heavily soiled products use Lucchese Leather Cleaner (see care instructions).
Condition: Apply Lucchese Leather Conditioner to your boots liberally, let dry.
Polish: Apply neutral or color matching cream-based polish and buff with a soft cloth to a shine.
Protect: Apply Lucchese Premium Leather Protector.
Snake
Clean: Remove loose dust or dirt with damp cloth or soft brush. For heavily soiled products use Lucchese Leather Cleaner (see care instructions).

More helpful tips:
Use edge dressing to renew outsoles and heels. Let boots dry at room temperature, never dry over direct heat. Do not store in cold or damp places as products can mildew. Consider boot trees to help maintain the shape of your boots.
